WHAT YOU NEED TO PREPARE
At LAMTA, your audition is designed to showcase your diverse talents and abilities across four key components:

Part 1: Musical Theatre Songs: Prepare and perform two contrasting Musical Theatre songs that highlight your vocal range, acting skills, and stage presence. Select pieces that showcase your versatility and ability to connect with different musical styles and emotions.

Part 2: Monologues: Demonstrate your acting prowess by presenting two contrasting monologues. Choose pieces that allow you to showcase a range of emotions, characters, and storytelling techniques. This is your opportunity to captivate the audition panel with your acting skills and dramatic interpretation.

Part 3: Ballet and Jazz Routine: This segment involves showcasing your dance abilities through a Ballet and Jazz routine. At your audition, you will be led through a dance class and taught a routine to perform on the spot, demonstrating your ability to pick up choreography quickly and execute precise movements. Alternatively, if auditioning online, you will receive a routine in advance to prepare and present with proficiency.

Part 4: One-on-One Interview: You will engage in a one-on-one interview with the audition panel either in person or online, depending on the circumstances. This segment allows you to discuss your passion for performing arts, your training and experiences, and your aspirations as a performer. It is your chance to convey your personality, dedication, and commitment to pursuing a career in the Performing Arts.

The combination of these four parts in your LAMTA audition provides a comprehensive assessment of your skills, creativity, and potential as a performing artist. Prepare diligently, bring your unique talents to the forefront, and showcase your passion for the Arts during each segment of the audition process.
