Amy
CAMPBELL

Amy Campbell graduated cum laude from UCT, with a BMus majoring in Jazz Singing. She is an internationally acclaimed vocalist and has toured Sweden, Italy, Namibia and Australia in her professional capacity. She and her Acapella group are the current winners of South Africa's Got Talent and she has been featured in Musical Theatre productions for Cape Town Opera (Tiger Bay) and Mixing Bowl Productions ('In-Between', 'Cheers to Broadway' and 'Private Parts'). She is a trained pianist, actress and singer.

Anton
LUITINGH

Anton obtained his B.Dram (Hons) Cum Laude degree in Drama at the University of Stellenbosch. He was nominated that same year for a Fleur du Cap Award in the category ‘Most Promising Newcomer’ to the theatre industry. He has been the Resident and Associate Director on a number of highly acclaimed local and International Touring productions including The Phantom of the Opera, Jersey Boys, The Sound of Music, Singin’ In The Rain, Annie, Priscilla Queen of the Desert, Showboat and performer, Anton has played some of the most sought-after roles in Musical Theatre including Munkustrap in 'CATS', The Beast in Disney’s smash hit Broadway musical 'Beauty And The Beast', Daddy Warbucks in 'Annie', The Pharaoh in 'Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat' amongst many others.

Ash
SEARLE

Ash Searle is one of South Africa’s unique talents – technically-trained in both dancing and acting. His focus is on entertainment that is vibrant and comedic but always of a world-class standard. Ash has performed all over the world in musical productions such as Chicago, African Footprint, The Buddy Holly Story, We Will Rock You and Fame to mention a few. South Africa also voted Ash into the top three of the television series 'So You Think You Can Dance?'

Brigitte 
REEVE-TAYLOR

Brigitte Reeve qualified as an AIDT teacher 37 years ago and was invited by the board of the AIDT as an examiner both local and International in 1994. She travels annually to the USA to take dancers on educational tours and has taught Master Classes in New York, London, Canada, Australia, Seattle, Boston, Los Angeles, New Jersey and San Francisco. She continues to examine, adjudicate and teach around the country and internationally. She shares her passion of dance, with assisting animals through her foundation, Dancers Love Dogs. In 2016 Brigitte was awarded the Glamour Woman of the Year title for her work through Dancers Love Dogs.

BERLEIN

Claire is one of South Africa’s most experienced accent/dialect coaches, having worked on international films, television series, theatre productions and commercials since 1994. She is also a multi-award winning actress whose career has spanned over 30 years.

FICK

David Fick graduated with a Master of Arts in Theatre and Performance from the University of Cape Town in 2005. He has appeared on stage in Edges, Marry Me a Little, A (Sorta) Love Story and You Bet Your Life!, the latter being an original musical co-written with Roland Perold. He has written two further musicals, Over the Rainbow and House of Shadows. His theatre criticism for BroadwayWorld earned him a Silver Arts Journalist of the Year Award in 2016. He currently teaches Dramatic Arts at Springfield Convent School.

ALEXANDER

Duane is an international Musical Theatre Performer who has performed in a number of major musical productions in South Africa and abroad over the last 2 decades. In addition to his performances in CATS, Joseph & the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Chicago, Jesus Christ Superstar,Thoroughly Modern Millie, Mark Cohen in RENT, Beauty and the Beast, Grease, High School Musical, Cabaret, Bob Crewe in Jersey Boys, The Sound of Music, Don Lockwood Alternate in Singin' in the Rain, Annie, and Priscilla Queen of the Desert, Duane has also been the Resident Choreographer on most of these productions. He is co-founder and director of Musical Theatre Workshop.

Idette
RAUCH

Idette Rauch graduated from the University of Pretoria, majoring in Singing. She received her master’s degree in musical Theatre at Tshwane University of Technology specialising in Body-Voice-Integration. She was the Musical Director for Jacques Brel is Alive and Living in Paris and composed original music for stage productions A Midsummer Night’s Dream and Die Waterman among others. She is a trained singer, actress and pianist

BLERK

Ingrid Blerk is French with a deep love for languages and theatre. She holds an Associate Diploma in Literature from the University of Nice, France and has taught French in South African schools. For the past 7 years, she’s been involved in various theatre production teams and has met wonderful experts in the industry. Being part of a creative community and especially getting involved with LAMTA since 2019, on the marketing and administrative side of things is a highlight and brings her much joy.​

Juanita
VAN WYK

Juanita Van Wyk is a seasoned Production Stage Manager and Technical Skills Development Facilitator with a career spanning over three decades. Specializing in opera, musicals, dance, drama, and corporate events, she ensures the seamless execution of productions by balancing technical and logistical aspects with a creative vision. Passionate about training within the technical theatre sphere, she is permanently employed at Cape Town Opera and also teaches Professional Theatre Practice at institutions such as LAMTA and Artscape.

Liné, a LAMTA alumna (Class of 2020), also holds a BMus in Musicology and Voice from Stellenbosch University. A passionate performer, she continues to grace the stage in productions at Kalk Bay Theatre while dedicating much of her time to teaching, arranging, and musical directing.​

Natalie
FISHER

Natalie Fisher is a renowned South African dancer, choreographer, movement coach, and intimacy coordinator. Co-founder of Free Flight Dance Company, she has worked on major events like the 2016 Olympic Opening Ceremony and the 2010 FIFA World Cup. A 2024 Naledi Award winner for The Promise, her credits span theatre (Hedda Gabler), film (Kissing Booth 2 & 3), and high-profile campaigns. She teaches at LAMTA, UCT, and Darkroom Contemporary, shaping the next generation of performers.

CHINEMBIRI

Oxeyden Chinembiri is the Janitor at LAMTA. With seven years of experience at the Academy, he specializes in all things maintenance and takes pride in ensuring a clean and well-kept environment for everyone.

Robin
VAN WYK

Robin van Wyk is the Artistic Director of Cape Town City Ballet. He studied at the University of Cape Town School of Dance with Dudley Thomlinson and Elizabeth Triegaardt where he received his Solo Seal. He joined NAPAC Dance Company in 1990 and then PACT Ballet in 1991 where he quickly moved through the ranks to Senior Soloist. In 1997 he moved to CAPAB Ballet (now known as Cape Town City Ballet), was promoted to Principal Dancer in 2000 and had several roles created on him by Veronica Paeper. In 2001 Robin joined the Musical Theatre Business and was cast as Mister Mistofelees in CATS, traveling to 11 countries with the world tour.

Sylvaine
STRIKE

Sylvaine Strike is a critically acclaimed director, theatre maker, actress and teacher. Her work is known for it’s enchanting visual, highly physical, poetic and magical content which has delighted and moved audiences for over two decades. With her acclaimed recent successes such as Endgame in 2019, Kiss of the Spider Womanin 2021, Firefly in 2022, Who’s Afraid of Virginia Wolf in 2023, The Promise in 2023, LAMTA’s Spring Awakening in 2024 and most recently The Tempest for the Maynardville Open Air Festival in 2025, she has garnered the reputation both nationally and internationally for making theatre that moves hearts and challenges the imagination in audiences of all ages. Sylvaine is a passionate teacher whose mission is to make young actors aware of their individual potential, providing them with tools that will unlock their minds and bodies to make their own theatre, discover the power of storytelling, and become the best performers they can possibly be in any style they explore.

Tamryn
OATES

Tamryn Oates joined the faculty in 2023 and is known as everyone's older sister. She earned a BA Degree in Graphic Design from the University of Hertfordshire and became an IDTA Latin Dance Associate Teachers in 2016 before making the big move to Cape Town. As a LAMTA Graduate and creative in her own right, she knows what it takes to succeed as a LAMTA student and loves being a witness to the growth and development of future talent.

Tamryn
PELSER

Tamryn Pelser is a movement teacher based in Cape Town with a background in dance and performance. She matriculated from the National School of the Arts (Speech and Drama) in 1998 and later studied Dance at Pretoria Technikon (TUT). After a career as a professional dancer and performer, she became certified in Pilates, Body Intelligence, Psychology, Functional Anatomy, and Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR). Passionate about lifelong learning, she integrates art, science, and education in her teaching.​

FOAT

Allison Foat is a former ballerina turned publicity specialist focusing on the entertainment industry. Since launching DIVA PR in 2005 she has represented blue chip clients in South Africa and abroad across the theatre sector and she is delighted to be working with LAMTA
