Amy Campbell
SINGING & VOCALS COACHING

Amy Campbell

Amy Campbell graduated cum laude from UCT, with a BMus majoring in Jazz Singing. She is an internationally acclaimed vocalist and has toured Sweden, Italy, Namibia and Australia in her professional capacity.

She and her Acapella group are the current winners of South Africa's Got Talent and she has been featured in Musical Theatre productions for Cape Town Opera (Tiger Bay) and Mixing Bowl Productions ('In-Between', 'Cheers to Broadway' and 'Private Parts'). She is a trained pianist, actress and singer.

Anton Luitingh
GROUP VOCAL COACHING, MUSICAL THEATRE & LAMTA DIRECTOR

Anton Luitingh

Anton obtained his B.Dram (Hons) Cum Laude degree in Drama at the University of Stellenbosch. He was nominated that same year for a Fleur du Cap Award in the category ‘Most Promising Newcomer’ to the theatre industry. He has been the Resident and Associate Director on a number of highly acclaimed local and International Touring productions including The Phantom of the Opera, Jersey Boys, The Sound of Music, Singin’ In The Rain, Annie, Priscilla Queen of the Desert, Showboat and Evita to name a few.

As a professional performer, Anton has played some of the most sought-after roles in Musical Theatre including Munkustrap in 'CATS', The Beast in Disney’s smash hit Broadway musical 'Beauty And The Beast', Daddy Warbucks in 'Annie', The Pharaoh in 'Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat' amongst many others.

Ashley Searle
MUSICAL THEATRE & ADAGE

Ashley Searle

Ash Searle is one of South Africa’s unique talents – technically-trained in both dancing and acting. His focus is on entertainment that is vibrant and comedic but always of a world-class standard. Ash has performed all over the world in musical productions such as Chicago, African Footprint, The Buddy Holly Story, We Will Rock You and Fame to mention a few. South Africa also voted Ash into the top three of the television series 'So You Think You Can Dance?'

Brigitte Reeve-Taylor
HORTON TECHNIQUE & CONTEMPORARY

Brigitte Reeve-Taylor

Brigitte Reeve qualified as an AIDT teacher 37 years ago and was invited by the board of the AIDT as an examiner both local and International in 1994. She travels annually to the USA to take dancers on educational tours and has taught Master Classes in New York, London, Canada, Australia, Seattle, Boston, Los Angeles, New Jersey and San Francisco.

She continues to examine, adjudicate and teach around the country and internationally. She shares her passion of dance, with assisting animals through her foundation, Dancers Love Dogs. In 2016 Brigitte was awarded the Glamour Woman of the Year title for her work through Dancers Love Dogs.

Christopher Weare
ACTING THEORY, ACTING PRACTICAL & IMPROVISATION

Christopher Weare

Emeritus Professor Christopher Weare lectured at Rhodes University from 1978 – 1981 and retired from UCT Drama Department in 2014 where he taught for 33 years. He was awarded the Fleur Du Cap Lifetime Achievement Award in 2012 for his remarkable contribution to the theatre industry.

He founded The Intimate Theatre (2002 – 2014) affording a valuable platform for many professional practitioners. He was a founder member of the Arena Theatre Company (1996 – 2006) and a founder member of The Mechanicals Collective (2008 – 2014).

He taught acting [screen and stage] at AFDA: The South African School of Motion Picture Medium and Live Performance, Cape Town (2015 -2018).

Claire Berlein
ACCENT COACHING

Claire Berlein

Claire is one of South Africa’s most experienced accent/dialect coaches, having worked on international films, television series, theatre productions and commercials since 1994. She is also a multi-award winning actress whose career has spanned over 30 years.

David Fick
SHOW STUDIES

David Fick

David Fick graduated with a Master of Arts in Theatre and Performance from the University of Cape Town in 2005. He has appeared on stage in Edges, Marry Me a Little, A (Sorta) Love Story and You Bet Your Life!, the latter being an original musical co-written with Roland Perold.

He has written two further musicals, Over the Rainbow and House of Shadows. His theatre criticism for BroadwayWorld earned him a Silver Arts Journalist of the Year Award in 2016. He currently teaches Dramatic Arts at Springfield Convent School.

Dawid Boverhoff
Singing Repertoire

Dawid Boverhoff

Dawid Boverhoff is a pianist, musical director and composer, active in the South-African entertainment industry since January 2000. He was educated at the Drakensberg Boys’ Choir School, Pro Arte Alphen Park and the Conservatory of Utrecht, obtaining a Bachelor of Music degree in Composition with honors. Dawid’s Musical Theatre experiences include the international tours of Grease, The Sound of Music, Heidi, Tsotsi, Avenue Q, Funny Girl, Kinky Boots and Altyd In My Drome.

Duane Alexander
JAZZ, DANCE REP, TAP, MUSICAL THEATRE & LAMTA DIRECTOR

Duane Alexander

Duane is an international Musical Theatre Performer who has performed in a number of major musical productions in South Africa and abroad over the last 2 decades.

In addition to his performances in CATS, Joseph & the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Chicago, Jesus Christ Superstar,Thoroughly Modern Millie, Mark Cohen in RENT, Beauty and the Beast, Grease, High School Musical, Cabaret, Bob Crewe in Jersey Boys, The Sound of Music, Don Lockwood Alternate in Singin' in the Rain, Annie, and Priscilla Queen of the Desert, Duane has also been the Resident Choreographer on most of these productions. He is co-founder and director of Musical Theatre Workshop.

Jacqui Singer
VOICE

Jacqui Singer

Jacqui, a graduate of UCT, began her career at the iconic Space Theatre in 1973. As an actor and director, she has been involved in many theatre productions as well as TV and film and has received several awards. She completed her MA in Theatre and Performance (cum laude) in 2008. She taught Acting and Voice at UCT from 1998 – 2016

Lindy Joubert
Singing Technique

Lindy Joubert

Lindy Joubert is a Voice Technique lecturer and freelance voice coach who teaches upcoming performance professionals to confidently use their voices in their chosen field. Before moving to Cape Town, Lindy spent three years as head of voice for a private school in Johannesburg. After a successful performing career, singing both locally and internationally, Lindy now dedicates her time helping students understand their voices.

Robin Van Wyk
BALLET

Robin Van Wyk

Robin van Wyk is the Artistic Director of Cape Town City Ballet. He studied at the University of Cape Town School of Dance with Dudley Thomlinson and Elizabeth Triegaardt where he received his Solo Seal. He joined NAPAC Dance Company in 1990 and then PACT Ballet in 1991 where he quickly moved through the ranks to Senior Soloist.

In 1997 he moved to CAPAB Ballet (now known as Cape Town City Ballet), was promoted to Principal Dancer in 2000 and had several roles created on him by Veronica Paeper. In 2001 Robin joined the Musical Theatre Business and was cast as Mister Mistofelees in CATS, traveling to 11 countries with the world tour.

Shirley Johnston
ACTING PRACTICAL

Shirley Johnston

UCT trained actress, scriptwriter and director Shirley Johnston, has appeared in over 30 film and television productions including ‘Cry, the Beloved Country’, ‘Heel Against the Head’,  ‘The Tattoo Chase’, ‘Isidingo’ and others. Shirley has worked extensively in the theatre as director and actress and has directed numerous stage shows ranging from intimate musicals, cabaret to huge Shakespeare productions.

Shirley has been lecturing since 1995 and has taught Acting, Directing and Scriptwriting at UCT, Stellenbosch University and AFDA. Her most recent performance was in Greg Latter’s ‘Death of a Colonialist’ which won the Naledi Best Production Award and played for five seasons in Johannesburg, Grahamstown, Cape Town and Germany.
